Do you have a beautiful #orchid arrangement that has #succulents in it and you are not sure how to water it? You know you should water your orchid weekly and your #succulent monthly so what gives? Do you need to take the arrangement apart to keep it alive? Don’t worry we have an easy solution for you... grab a couple ice cubes from your freezer and place them on either side of the arrangement but be careful making sure that the cubes don’t make contact with the leaves or roots as this may “burn” the leaves and roots and allow the cubes to melt. This should provide your orchid and succulents enough water while your orchid blooms and when all the #blooms drop at the end of its blooming cycle you can transplant the succulents into another smaller container to begin watering monthly and continue watering your orchid weekly! • • • • • #greenthumbtips #orchidcare #succulentcare #orchidarrangement #greatgifts #shoplocal #green #purple #igdc #bythingsdc #madeindc

Did you know that the #chineseevergreen actually flowers regularly! However, most people recommend that the inflorescences (flowers) be removed as they start to appear. Aglaonema flowers use up the energy your plant should be devoting to leaf growth and the flowers are not considered attractive! Trim off flower stalks before the bud opens to prevent pollen going everywhere! . . . . . #plantswithpersonality #aglaonema #plantparenthood #bythings #madeindc❤️ #capitolcreated #green #everygreen #greenthumbtips #dc #igdc #themoreyouknow????

Jade plants may be fertilized three to four times a year with a standard liquid houseplant fertilizer, however, do not fertilize a jade plant when the soil is dry as this may damage the roots. Instead water the plant first and then fertilize. . . . . . #jade #greenthumb #greenthumbtips #plantcare #houseplantsofinstagram #green #succulents #succulove #urbangardens #fertilizer #bythings #themoreyouknow????
